Recently, for the first time, a mobile forensic laboratory has been delivered to the State Border Guard Service to train inspectors to recognize forgeries in passports.

Experts of the Main Forensic Center conducted an on-site training at the Kherson Detachment. At the administrative border with the temporarily occupied Crimea, border control inspectors were provided with practical assistance in detecting forged passport documents with the use of a mobile forensic laboratory.

This unique laboratory was provided to Ukrainian border guards by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine. The mobile forensic laboratory is a set of equipment based on the Volkswagen Crafter 35. The highlight of the technical stuffing of the laboratory is the Regula 4305 document verification center and the specialized Regula 1025.01 magnifying glass, which allows to recognize the subtlest signs of forgery. Also, in the arsenal of the laboratory there is an inverter, a modern camera, a powerful laptop, spare batteries, diesel generator, radio. And this complex is equipped with a mobile video surveillance system capable of real-time face recognition.

The training in the Kherson Border Detachment took place with the use of innovative teaching methods and the use of special didactic (visual) material. Violators also helped the training of Ukrainian border guards, as real examples were studied during the training - documents seized at the Ukrainian border with various signs of forgery.

Taking into account the positive feedback from the participants of the trainings, the specialists of the Main Forensic Center will soon continue the set of activities on a regular basis.
